Impact and Activity Metrics
Medic Mobile and our partners track these metrics over time, within and across health systems supported by the software.
Within the Community Health Toolkit (CHT) network, apps support antenatal and postnatal care workflows most often. 24,830 health workers are supported for ANC and 23,395 health workers are supported during, PNC. This represents 95% and 89% of the total network, respectively, at the end of Q2 2019.
The number of assessments conducted for children under five reached its highest point in our history, with apps supporting 541,345 assessments in Q2 2019. These assessments resulted in 256,900 diagnoses and 58,164 referrals to care at facilities.
In Q2 2019, 22,306 women were counseled on family planning options in their communities. This is the largest number of women counseled since we began to track this metric in Q2 2018 and represents an increase of 10,607 women since last quarter. Additionally, the number of women using modern methods of family planning nearly doubled from Q1 to Q2 2019 with a total of 5,183 additional users.
Since introducing malnutrition workflows, this use case has steadily spread. At the end of Q2, 34% of the all health workers currently trained were equipped with malnutrition workflows. These 9,026 health workers identified 2,926 cases of malnutrition this quarter and helped 1,377 children recover after treatment, the largest numbers to date.
Delivering for Health Workers
The Community Health Toolkit now supports more health workers than ever before, with a total of 26,208 health workers using the tools in Q2 2019. Medic Mobile and our partners equipped 1,139 new health workers this quarter and delivered updated tools to 524 existing health workers.
The trend line above shows only the growth in the network of health workers supported by applications built with the Community Health Toolkit; it does not include health workers supported by legacy tools or other software.
Health workers use apps built with the CHT to support a variety of health interventions. The graphic below shows the scale for each use case and the percentage of the total health worker network that is equipped.
